Sakellariou Group 2015

  • November 2016: New article accepted in the Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics. We report the devlopment of a dual-field NMR spectrometer, using a pneumatic shuttling. For more click here !
  • October 2016: New article accepted in the Journal of Biomolecular NMR. We report unprecedendent high-sensitivity in high-resolution NMR relaxometry experiments, using a ultra-fast mechanical shuttling and a commercial cryo-probe. For more click here !
  • September 2016: Dr. Rodrigo Oliveira-Silva joined our group as a post-doctoral student on a collaborative project with the Laboratoire Leon Brillouin. Welcome !
  • August 2016: New article accepted in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance. We report the use of monolithic transmission line resonators as Magic Angle Coil Spinning (MACS) sensors for ultra sensitive high-resolution NMR detection. For more click here !
  • July 2015: EUROMAR 2015. Dimitris was invited to give a talk about new applications of permanents magnets in NMR and MRI.

  • Septembre 2015: Melle Elodie Guillossou joined our intitute as a trainee student, and she will be hosted in our group. Welcome !
  • September 2015: Dr. Jochen Lehmann-Horn joined our group and received a Eurotalent funding for working on spinning microcoils (MACS) for biomedical applications in collaboration with UPMC.
  • June 2015: New article accepted in the Scientific Reports, about the possibility to generate multiple homogeneous magnetic field volumes inside the bore of superconducting magnets. These centers could allow for indirect detection of high-resolution low-field NMR. For more click here !
  • June 2015: AUREMN 2015. Dimitris was invited to give a talk about NMR and MRI using static and spinning permanent magnets.
  • May 2015: GERM 2015. Dimitris was invited to give a talk about simulation and modeling in magnetic design for NMR and MRI magnets.
  • April 2015: ENC 2015. A talk about NMR and MRI spinning permanent magnets was given by Dimitris, where he introduced the first preclinical magic angle spinning field system.
  • December 2014: Dimitris was invited by Prof. Tito Bonagamba, director of the IFSC, for a collaboration to Brazil on permanent magnets for porous mediarock core analysis. He presented his work at Petrobras, and at the Intitute of Physics os San Carlos.
  • June 2014: EUROMAR 2014. Dr. Ching-Yu Chou presented a poster on high-resolution Relaxometry using our fast sample shuttling device for the study of novel MRI contrast agents.
  • May 2014: Using MACS and the highest persistent magnetic field NMR machine (~23.5 Tesla) of the TGIR, Alan and co-workers were able to record the metabolite NMR signatures from a single C-elegans worm ! This limit of micro-detection is reported in the our new paper accepted for publication in Analytical Chemistry. For more click here !

  • August 2013: ICMRM 12. Dimitris gave a talk on a portable MR Analyzer for High-Resolution 1H MAS Spectroscopy.

  • July 2013: New article accepted in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance, about the use of double helix dipole coil design in NMR. For more click here !
  • July 2013: EUROMAR-2003 Hersonissos Crete. Anne Soleilhavoup, Javier Alonso and Ching-Yu Chou presented 3 posters. Alan gave an oral presentation and Dimitris was invited to give a talk where we introduced a portable MR Analyzer for High-Resolution 1H MAS Spectroscopy!
  • May 2013: New article accepted in Comptes Rendus de l'Academie des Sciences Chimie, about a simple metod to produce shim coils using lithography. For more click here !
  • April 2013: New article accepted in Microporous & Mesoporous Materials, about the use of our one-sided magnet to measure diffusion of ionic liquids inside nanopores. For more click here ! Kuldeep Panesar prepared an online detailled manual for using the one-sided magnet to perform moleular diffusion measurements. Great work !
  • April 2013: Javier Alonso received funding to give an oral presentation at the 54th ENC conference. Dimitris presented also a poster.
  • April 2013: Dimitris was invited to give an oral educational course about Magnetic Resonance in Rotating Magnetic Fields at the ISMRM conference.
  • March 2013: New article accepted in Microporous & Mesoporous Materials, about the design of shim and gradient coils for Magnetic Angle Field Spinning. For more click here !

  • July 2012: New article accepted in PLoS ONE. It discribes the results from our collaboration with the University of Freibourg and the UPMC on the microfabrication of MACS. For more click here !
  • July 2012: Alan Wong was awarded a young researcher grant from the ANR for the development of MACS. Congratulations Alan !
  • June 2012: Mr. B. Couet student from the ENS joined our group as trainee student. Welcome !
  • 13 June 2012: Drs. A. Soleilhavoup, X. Li, K. Panesar and Alan Wong gave four oral presentations at the Winter meeting on Structural NMR of the GBP. Permanent magnet applications, coils, diffusion measurements on nanoporous materials and applications of MACS in metabolomics were presented. For more click here !

  • 6 October 2010: Cedric Hugon defended his PhD thesis and was awarded the title of "Docteur ès Sciences". Congratulations Cedric !
  • 1 September 2010: We have built the first pure permanent magnet, producing a homogeneous magnetic field pointing at the magic angle with respect to its axis of symmetry. These first results are reported in an article in Magn. Reson. Chem., currently in press. Click here !
  • July 2010: New article accepted in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance on the application of Stray Field Imaging under MAS and contrast mechanisms, click here !
  • July 2010: Joint Euromar 2010 and 17th ISMAR Conference: Cedric Hugon presented a poster on portable permanent magnets and the first permanent magnet pointing at the magic angle! Birgit Fassbender presented a poster on 17O applications of rotating microcoils. Dimitris gave an invited talk on spinning microdetectors.

  • September 2009: 6th Apline Conference on Solid-State NMR: Alan Wong presented his poster on ultra slow spinning techniques and STRAFI MAS Imaging. Cedric Hugon received a grant to attend the conference and presented his poster on permanent magnet mobile NMR.

  • June 2008: D. Sakellariou has been granted an Independent Researcher Staring Grant by the European Research Council. The Grant will be running for five years and aims to develop new MRI and MRS technology.
